Doug Eddington, President

Originally from Salt Lake City, Doug Eddington has been a residentof Blackfoot since 1981. He and his wife, Jan, moved to Idaho to raise their six children in a less urban environment and have not been disappointed. All of their children graduated from Blackfoot High School and have gone on to graduate from universities in Idaho and elsewhere. Jan was the band director for Blackfoot High School and Mountain View Middle School. Doug graduated from Brigham Young University and has spent the majority of his career in facilities management for the LDS Church. When he retired in 2015 his responsibilities included over 4M square feet of buildings in four states and the supervision of thirty employees. Music has always been close to him. He has played in community bands in Blackfoot and Pocatello, and participated with the Blackfoot Community Players. The Eddington family has its own small jazz combo and plays for local events in the park and more. Although ‘Eddington’ is a very English name Doug and Jan have a multicultural family that includes members of direct Chinese, Indonesian, Native American and Dutch descent.
