An Enriching Field Trip for SD55 4th Grade Students!
Organized and run by the Blackfoot High School Indigenous Club, all fifth-grade students in Blackfoot Idaho School District #55 received a one-day field trip on February 28, 2023 to the Fort Hall Indian Reservation where they learned Idaho History from a Native point of view. Every child participated in Native American games, crafts, history exhibits and interpretations. A brief bus tour of some of the historic locations was also given. Afterwards, each student was invited to submit an essay of what they learned and their impressions of what they saw. The top three entrants received cash prizes of $500, $300, and $100 respectively.

LVYF awards new funding!
LVYF awarded funding to bring every 4th grade student in the Blackfoot School District (Idaho) to the Fort Hall Indian Reservation and visit the Tribal Museum (Shoshone-Bannock) as well as other historical sites on the reservation.

Up, Up and Away With Your Help!
Blackfoot High School Indian Club receives $22,000 for academic incentives, teacher training, a significant cross cultural project to help non-native students understand the significant portion of the student body comprised of Native American young men, and more. Tadraschell Murray, a staff member of the school and a member of LVYF the Board of Directors, made the presentation with Lee Hammett, another Board Member looking on. School administrators, Joe Abercrombie and Shannon Lance, brought the Native American Club together for the presentation.
